Veterans Appreciation Barbecue/Luncheon 2017
On Saturday, August 19, 2017, Merrick Post No. 1282, American Legion, members will again host a luncheon/barbecue for a group of disabled Veterans from the Stony Brook and Northport Veterans Nursing Home. This event will take place from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. We are trying to get donations from local merchants and banks in our area to support this event. Letters will be sent out to invite local area politicians and Nassau County America Legion officials to join in welcoming these Veterans from the Stony Brook and Northport Veterans Nursing Home. Post members, please take an active role in making this event a memorable one. Post members who want to participate in this event please gather at the Post at 11:00 a.m. Thank you.

Trip to see Long Island Ducks Baseball Game 2017
On Saturday, July 15, 2017, the Post will be going to a Long Island Ducks baseball game, there will be fireworks after the game. The cost of each ticket is $12.00 per person. The game starts at 6:30 pm. We will be meeting at the American Legion, Merrick Post 1282, at 3:00 pm for a complimentary lunch after which time we will car pool to the stadium. There is a limit of 30 tickets, so it is first come, first serve. This event is open to EVERYONE, NOT just Post members. So bring your kids and grand-kids. Make all checks out to the American Legion Merrick Post 1282 and send them to the Post with attention to: John Weber. If you have any questions contact John Weber at 516-223-5982.
